Game Rules and Guidelines

Safe Physical Distancing and Use of Mask During Scavenger Hunt Game Activities
It is important to maintain social distancing (6 or more feet between participants), always wear a mask and keep hands clean. These practices are important to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. We acknowledge that all of these guidelines may not keep us 100% safe at all times. However, these are some of the best prevention measures to keeping each other safe at this time.
Therefore, we kindly request that all players and parents wear masks and keep a 6 or more-foot space between participants. All minors must be accompanied by adults.

1.      Scavenger Hunt Goal
Your mission is to find hidden clues in the three locations. A CASLV PTO will provide you with your first clue at each site and this clue will lead you to the next clue. The last clue will lead you to a QR-Code that you will scan to answer trivia questions. You will then be off to the next location until you answer all the questions at the three locations.

You will need:
- a smart phone with QR-Code reader
- Scratch paper and pen/pencil
When prompted (after you scan a QR-Code), be sure to enter your last name or the email you used to register for the scavenger hunt game.
In summary: You will hunt for clues at the three locations and you will complete the activity at each location when you scan a QR-Code that contains the trivia questions. Once you scan the QR-Code, you must answer the trivia questions for that location to complete that location.
The Scavenger hunt is timed, so you or your group will work to complete as many items/challenges as possible within the allotted time. (9:00am -1:00pm). Players will not be able to access the website to enter trivia answers after 1:00 PM.

2.      Scavenger Hunt Locations
You have been assigned a start location.  Above is a map with clues to finding your assigned location. Once you arrive at one of the locations a CASLV PTO member will provide you with the first clue at that location. Players will be assigned to their initial location to insure social distancing.

3.      Time Limit
Game starts at 9:00am and ends 1:00pm on October 3, 2020.  The game instructions and clues to the locations will be posted at 9:00 am (PTO website) on October 3, 2020.

4.      Prize
Prizes will be awarded based on the most accurate answers to the trivia questions. In the event of a tie for accuracy, the first place winner will be determined by the player that submits their answers the earliest (trivia answers are automatically time-stamped). Winners will be announced the next day by 5:00pm.
Prizes will be awarded for top three winners:  1st place $50; 2nd place $30; 3rd place $20
In the event of a tie in both accuracy and time, prizes will be split between winners

Game Rules and Guidelines

5.      Completion requirements
After completion of the trivia at the first assigned location, the players can proceed to any location. The game is complete for the players once they answer the trivia questions at all three locations.

6.      Individual and Group players - SPLIT UP OR NOT
Teams of two or more must stay together for the duration of the hunt. Team players are not permitted to split up to look for clues or complete challenges. Trivia answers are time-stamped so team members submitting questions from multiple locations simultaneously will be disqualified.  Individually registered players may play as a team with other individual players or join with other groups. Winners are selected from those that submitted their answers. You must submit your answers individually for a chance win. One entry per household.

7.      QR codes and clues are not to be removed from their locations.
QR codes and clues are to be left where they are for other teams to locate.
This is especially important! We need everyone to play! So please DO NOT TOUCH OR REMOVE THE QR CODEs FROM THEIR LOCATIONS.  Simply scan the codes. You may take a picture of it or write the clue down, if needed

8.      Disqualification
The game will be monitored by parent volunteers. Sabotaging the game or removing hidden clues will result in automatic disqualification.

9.      Common Courtesy

You must exercise common courtesy. All players and parent participants must be polite and respectful with each other and the public.
